Duty base service of Passenger Amenities
About 300 passengers travels in a General Coach which are located at both ends of the train. Passenger travelling in these coaches are generally from lower strata of income group and therefore, there need is also different. Serving Janta khana, more water taps and Shulabh toilets are the basic needs of the passenger travelling in these coaches. This issue got further aggravated with the extension of platforms to suit 24-26 coaches when these facilities were not extended suitably. Considering the number of passenger travelling in these coaches, Indian Railway shall consider provision of these amenities.
