The negative sign is an indication of speed reducing because of the action of force.
11	A ball weighing 1 Kg is thrown vertically downward at a speed of 20 m/s and it traverse a distance of 50 m. What is the retardation force offered by ice?	4 N	(v²-u²)/2s=acceleration and we get 4 m/sec². Mass is 1 kg, thus the force of retardation is 4 N.
12	A person is running in a circular path of diameter 200 m and covers one round in 40 secs. How much distance it will be away from the starting point after a time of 2 minute and 20 secs.?	200 m	Distance of circular path=(22/7)200 m, His speed is (22/7)200/40=(22/7)5; Distance travelled in 140 secs is (225*140)/7=2200 m. The track distance is 2400/7, means he will travel a distance of 2400 m in seven rounds and will be 200 m short of the starting point.
13	A stone of 10 Kg is tied with a rubber string of 20 cm long and elongates to 22 cm. It is lowered in a bucket full of water. What happens to the length of the string?	it is less than 22 cm but more than 20 cm	When the stone is lowered in water, it weight reduces and thus the force acting on the string and its elongation reduces.
14	The unit of work is	Any of them	Unit of work is derived from Force*Distance i.e. N-m. Work is done to produce heat than generally it is referred as Joules. Similarly when it is electrical energy it is called watt-sec.

20	What are greenhouses?	they are the enclosures for plant to grow in winter requiring higher temperature for growth	During winter, the green houses absorb sunlight through glass chamber, and the heat so absorbed remains trapped thus maintain higher temperature for the growth of the plant.
